Standard Test Method for Resistance of Emulsion Paints in the Container to Attack by Microorganisms
This test looks at the ability of a treated paint to control repeat contamination.
- Test samples are inoculated at least 2 times at weekly intervals if the prior inoculation has been controlled.
- Test organisms include Enterobacter aerogenes ATCC#13048 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC#10145. A 3rd optional organism listed in the method, Bacillus subtilis ATCC#27328, may be included at the customer’s discretion at no additional charge.
- Other bacteria in our culture collection are also available if modifications to the inoculum are required.
- A contaminated paint sample supplied by the customer may be used in place of the bacterial challenge.
